The historic Barrack Street Colonial Cottage is conveniently located in the Hobart CBD.
The cottage is close to Salamanca, cafes, historic homes, theatres, shops and restaurants. It is a great base when working in Hobart or a great place to stay when visiting Hobart and Southern Tasmania.
The Barrack Street Colonial Cottage is a rare example of an early Australian workers cottage. It was built in the 1830's for a ships captain and his family. A stay in the cottage allows you to step back in time and to imagine what life was like for a sea captain and his family when Hobart town was in its infancy - while you enjoy all modern conveniences.
The Barrack Street Colonial Cottage is ideal for two. It has a quaint attic bedroom with a queen sized bed and a great view of Hobart. It is furnished with antiques and offers a very different experience when compared with a modern hotel room.
An open fire lends a romantic glow to the lounge room in the evening while you relax, and electric heating provides added warmth when necessary.
Other features include:
Either bring your own breakfast, or allow us to provision the kitchen with everything that you need for a hearty continental breakfast.
The upstairs bedroom means that the cottage is not suitable for young children or guests with limited mobility.
